Tux Glacier – Ski Holidays For Skiers, Boarders and Children
When skiers and boarders talk about Tux, they generally also talk about Finkenberg, both a big part of the Zillertal Ski Area (Ski and Glacier World Zillertal 3000), with inclusive ski lift passes imparting access to Zell am Ziller, Fugen, Hintertux, Hippach, Kaltenbach and Mayrhofen. Many of the slopes are above the 2000-meter mark, giving Tux Glacier and Finkenberg a long snow-sure season. When Nature doesn’t play friendly with snow, nevertheless, there are 200 snow cannons dispersed throughout capable of covering 100+ km of ski runs. The skiing goes as high as 3250 meters and starts at the resort at 850 meters. There are 86 ski runs in Tux-Finkenberg proper (227 km), but more than 630 km when skiers and boarders buy a Zillertaler Superskipass. There are 9 total ski lifts in Tux, but the lines hardly ever queue up and use of the 59 km of blues, 134 km of reds and 32 km of blacks are never hard to get to. Cross-country ski enthusiast will be happy to know that in Tux alone there are 21 km of trails. Snowboarders get their snowboarding on at the Burton Park over by the Sunjet. There are all sorts of jumps, half pipes, slalom challenges and rails. Beginning snowboarders can watch from the Chill Out Zone and try their beginner’s luck at the fun park. All the child services are found in Tux and Finkenberg. There is childcare, kindergarten, a child’s lift, slope and park.
Tux Glacier Accommodation: The hotels know that skiers and boarders want relaxation at the end of the day, so overindulgence and pampering in the hotel room, apartment, chalet and other lodges is the norm. There are several three and four-star hotels that spoil their guests all for a seasonally nice price.
